Sensio Vista – gives «superpowers» to the night shift

Sensio Vista is a newly developed web portal that gives care teams real-time status of all residents and enables digital supervision on large screens. Feedback from our test customers is that Vista gives «superpowers» to the night shift because it is user-friendly and provides a faster and better overview of the residents, says Mathias Lervold, Product Manager for Sensio Vista.

With the demographic challenges facing the UK, with a sharp increase in the number of elderly and people living with dementia as well as a significant shortage of qualified healthcare professionals, it is urgent to implement a digital transformation in elderly care in the UK. That's why Sensio is working hard to develop new products and solutions in care technology that can help solve these challenges.

One of the newly developed innovations from Sensio is the Vista web portal, which aims to make the working day easier and better for care teams while improving the quality of care services for residents. Vista has been specially developed and adapted for use on large screens such as TVs, PCs and tablets, similar to what Sensio Pocket is on smaller, mobile user interfaces.

Vista is specially designed for care teams working at night in care homes, but is also used for centralised digital supervision in home care. Vista provides a faster and better overview of the situation in a care home, especially for the night shift who need to have an overview of many residents, says Mathias Lervold (pictured), Product Manager for Sensio Vista.

He clarifies:

– The mobile screen with Pocket is the primary work tool for care teams using Sensio's solutions, but being able to have a full overview on a large TV screen or PC monitor is a useful additional service that simplifies the working day especially for night shifts.

Sensio Vista has two main functions:

  • Overview of resident rooms in real-time.

Vista provides a real-time status of each resident room, which means that active alarms, operational messages and team presence in a room are displayed on the screen as they happen and prioritised in a predefined order. This user-friendly, room-based view gives care teams a good overview of residents in care homes. For large care homes, the view is customised so that only the rooms where something critical is happening end up at the top; this makes it easy for teams to know what to keep an eye on.

  • The possibility of digital supervision.

Digital supervision in Vista means that either at scheduled times or in the event of an alarm, care teams start a video transmission (anonymous or detailed) to supervise the resident. This supervision is done on a daily basis via the mobile solution Sensio Pocket, but with Vista it is now possible to do digital supervision via larger screens such as TVs, PCs and tablets. This provides a better overview and makes supervision more efficient.

Vista makes it easier to carry out digital supervisions, especially those that are planned, in a fast and efficient way. In addition, viewing on a larger screen makes it even easier to both see and interpret the content of the video clips from the residents' rooms, says Mathias Lervold of Sensio.

How to get access to Vista

All Sensio customers who have the cloud-based e-healthcare platform Sensio 365 and the safety sensor RoomMate (pictured) can get access to Sensio Vista free of charge.

Register your interest in Sensio Vista here

Once you have gained access, logging in to Sensio Vista is done in the same way as in Sensio Pocket and the Care Portal. You use the same login method as when logging in to Pocket, and receive the same alarms and rights. Once logged in, you choose the right role to get a view that is adapted to the individual's work tasks.

Accessing Vista is very easy and users who are used to Pocket will understand the use of Vista very quickly. The award-winning e-health solution Sensio Insight will also be coming to Vista soon, and together they will provide an invaluable overview and insight into those receiving care in care homes or at home, says Mathias Lervold.

Positive feedback

Several Sensio customers in the UK, Norway and Sweden have had the opportunity to test Vista, and the feedback has been very positive especially from the night shifts. Some have even said that Vista gives «superpowers»  to the night shifts.

Here's the feedback from a care home in the UK:

«The Vista system is smart, compact and exactly what we need. Having the visual overview on the large screens in the nurse's station has made a real difference to our ability to respond quickly when residents need help.»

More and more customers are testing Sensio Vista, and we look forward to even more local authorities and care homes adopting this user-friendly and useful solution, concludes Mathias Lervold of Sensio.
